RECOMMENDED CURRICULUM
Apologia Elementary Science with Jeannie Fulbright

We love Jeannie Fulbright's elementary Apologia science texts!   The botany book has been a big hit in our home school co-op classes, too.   You will find a strong Charlotte Mason / notebooking /outdoor nature study emphasis in this curriculum.    You can stretch these books to a year if you want a relaxed pace, but you could fit in one per semester, in my opinion.  All of these books have optional spiral bound student notebooking journals to make your days much easier!  These include activities such as crosswords, mini-books, diagrams, copy work, project records, etc.   Our personal favorites are the Botany and Flying Creatures texts.

Exploring Creation with Botany, TextbookExploring Creation with Botany Introduce your young naturalists to plants---their structure, propagation, classification, and more---with this engaging yearlong classical science curriculum. Influenced by Charlotte Mason and the living books philosophy, homeschooling mother Jeannie Fulbright writes as if she were chatting with her own children, defining and explaining at their comprehension level. Designed to be used with both readers and non-readers, each clearly organized lesson features content-rich narration; notebooking; and hands-on activities and projects using easy-to-find household items. Dissect seeds, force bulbs, make leaf skeletons---and take a close-up look at God's flora kingdom. Grades K to 6. 176 pages, hardcover.
