Hello!

I am Virginia Knowles, the mother of 10 children, ages 8 to almost 27.  By the end of this summer 2014, we will also have four grandsons. 

I have home schooled at least some of my children for over 20 years.  Many of those years we belonged to an academic co-op.  At various times, some of my children have been enrolled in public school, a private hybrid class/home school, state-sponsored on-line classes, and college dual enrollment.  In addition, I taught part-time in the private school last year.

For the 2014-2015 school year, I will only be home schooling my youngest daughter, who will be in 3rd grade and spent the past year in public school. She has asked to come home, and I plan to home school her for two to three years before sending her back to classroom school so I can return to work.

I have been writing and speaking about home schooling since we started in 1992.  I have written books which are no longer in print, and currently publish an e-magazine, The Hope Chest, as well as several blogs about life and education.  My education blogs are:
